CANNON FALLS, Minn.–Midwest-CBK will launch G!, a high-margin, design-driven giftware brand, during the winter gift shows.
The initial introduction will feature 900 seasonal and everyday gift SKUs that combine the best in high-margin products and fashion-forward design, according to Midwest. “We’re hearing time and again from independent retailers that they’re hungry for higher margins and exclusively designed, quality giftware,” said Marty Nimerfroh, G! vice president of sales. “G! delivers both with high-margin, design-driven giftware, backed by Midwest-CBK, one of the most trusted, long-standing leaders in the industry.”
G! will be led by Nimerfroh and Alissa Benjamin, vice president of product development and sourcing for G! Nimerfroh has more than 30 years of sales and management experience in gift and home accessories. Benjamin has 14 years of experience in design, art direction, marketing and trendspotting. “With Marty and Alissa at the helm, G! promises to be one of the most exciting new introductions in the gift industry in years,” said Dick Duff, general manager of Midwest-CBK. “The Midwest-CBK and G! connection allows for administrative economies of scale such as distribution, and better sourcing, which means superior pricing. But G! has its own distinctive identity and niche focusing on high-margin designs, calling for separate sales and marketing teams.”
The new brand will be represented by Southeast Marketing in Atlanta, by 3 Gentry’s in Dallas, by DandyLines in Seattle, and by All About You in Minneapolis.
Initial themes include Wine After Wine, The Sweet Outdoors, Treasured Friendship, A Dog’s Home, Santa’s Workshop, Reindeer Cheer, Jingle Paws and more. Wholesale prices range from $1 to $20, with recommended retail prices ranging from $2.99 to $60. G! will feature three-tiered pricing based on volume quantity breaks, with tiers supporting up to a three-times mark-up.
