NEW YORK–Impressed during her first trip to the Ambiente fair in Frankfurt, Germany, this past February, design doyenne Martha Stewart hosted an evening dialogue at Martha Stewart Living Omnimedia headquarters here last night to talk up her experience with show owner and organizer Messe Frankfurt.
During the “Dialogues in Design” event Stewart spoke with Nicolette Naumann, vice president of Messe Frankfurt/Ambiente, about her experiences and impressions of the show. She praised the level of design and the unique items she saw, in particular a collection of paper-thin glassware by an unnamed Japanese source, and a pastry tool that allowed her to easily create lattice-work for pies. She said that the layout of the fair, one of the world’s largest, was easy to navigate, provided you wear comfortable shoes.
When Naumann asked Stewart if she might one day exhibit there, Stewart, who presented Naumann with a roll of “Martha Wrap,” parchment-lined aluminum foil for cooking en papillote, remained noncommittal, yet open to possibility.
