NEW YORK-The Japan External Trade Organization (JETRO) will present Japan by Design, a special exhibit at the upcoming International Contemporary Furniture Fair (ICFF).
Located in booth 1035 of the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center, where ICFF will be held, the exhibit will highlight an array of made-in-Japan materials and products whose designs merge Japan’s culture, detailed craftsmanship and “innovative modernity,” according to a JETRO statement. It will focus primarily on furniture and home accessories, but will also feature a variety of wall materials such as ibushi clay tiles, ceramic tiles with LED lights, titanium panels, colored copper and brass panels, three-dimensional ceramic panels and other products never seen before in North America, JETRO said. Sixteen brands will be showcased in Japan by Design.
JETRO will also hold an opening-day reception on May 19 from 2-4 p.m. at the Japan by Design booth. ICFF is scheduled for May 19-22.
