KING OF PRUSSIA, Pa.–The International Home Furnishings and Design Association has founded a chapter in Japan.
The new chapter—which was formed by Yasue Ishikawa, executive director of Risa Braire Co., a firm that designs custom window treatments and soft goods—held its first meeting recently at the headquarters of Decorative Mode No. 3, a design and architectural firm based on Osaka. An IFDA statement said the new chapter is already working on Japan’s first designer showhouse, which will debut in Yokohama in February, and is pursuing other civic projects.
The new chapter is the second to form this year. The other, located in Solana Beach, Calif., opened its doors in June.
