NEW YORK–Interior designer Jeremiah Brent launches his exclusive candle collection today with Gilt, Brent’s first venture into product. In three signature scents, the candles are made with soy blend wax and are hand poured into a gold-mirrored glass tumbler.
Both Brent and Gilt hosted a dinner last night for media and friends to celebrate the launch, and which included Keith George, who assumed the responsibilities for the home division earlier this year and is Gilt’s senior vice president and general manager of Gilt, Men’s and Home, as well as interior designer Nate Berkus, Brent’s fiance.
Brent’s candle scents include Rosa, which includes such fragrance notes as orange blossom, jasmine bloom, blue rose, and vanilla orchid; Figo, with includes fragrance notes such as red grapefruit, succulent blackberry and fresh fig; and Fogo, which includes such fragrance notes as tobacco flower, smoky incense, frankincense and cedar bark. The candles will retail for $28 each.
“We’re big fans of Jeremiah’s work and thought that this would be a fun and exciting collaboration that our members would really enjoy,” said George. “In the design world, Jeremiah is certainly one to watch and we’re excited to launch his first product line exclusively on Gilt.”
“Candles do really well for us across the board and our customers really seem to love them,” George added. “Candles and home scents in general are such a personal experience for people, so we really try to offer our members a wide range of candle brands and scents. Jeremiah’s candles are really beautiful and smell great – plus, they’re produced by D.L.& Co., one of the premier candle manufacturers out there and one of our favorite brands as well.”
In addition, Brent is curating a sale on Gilt featuring his favorite picks for the home, including lighting and furniture from brands like Control Brand and Pangea Home, artwork from Soicher Marin and Oliver Gal, bedding and throws from Matteo, rugs from Bashian and decorative accessories from Belle Epoque and Libra Leather.
“The pieces I’ve selected are timeless and can add visual depth to any aesthetic, regardless if it’s a traditional or a modern space,” said Brent, who formerly appeared on Bravo’s The Rachel Zoe Project. “The sale really speaks to my own philosophy for design – that you should curate your space, and grow and evolve with it. Besides your clothing, your home is art that you live in and truly an extension of your personal style at that moment.”
