NEW YORK-Gift buyers and retail executives will find the Forty One Madison welcome mat out for the summer New York International Gift Fair.
The tableware building, where approximately 30 showrooms are open for show-goers, will offer complimentary mini-coach shuttle service between its East Side location and the Jacob K. Javits Convention Center.
“We know a taxi ride across town in traffic can add up when you’re on a travel budget, and the shuttle is a convenience that Forty One is pleased to be able to offer again this year,” said Laurie Burns, Forty One Madison’s senior vice president director. “The coaches are air conditioned, comfy and the best way to kick back and relax for the 20-minute-or-so ride between Gift Fair venues.”
The service will begin at Forty One Madison on Sunday, Aug. 15, and continue through Wednesday, Aug. 18, available during show hours, 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. A single coach will make the round-trips on Sunday and Wednesday, but, a second coach will be added Monday and Tuesday, with twin departures at each location.
According to Burns, Gift Fair visitors to Forty One will get a preview of some of the “best of show” entries upon entering the building.
“A ‘teaser’ exhibit featuring new and gift-related merchandise from eight of Forty One’s showrooms will be on view in the lobby,” Burns said. Those to be featured include: Eisch Crystal, L’Objet, Mottahedeh, Nambe, Portmeirion, Riedel Crystal of America, Inc., Tervis Tumbler and Zwilling J.A. Henckels.
“Additionally, the Buyers’ Lounge on Level A will be open, and is another convenience for our business guests with full WiFi access,” Burns said. “It’s a good meeting spot, as well as a great place to relax and catch your breath or catch up on emails in between appointments.”
Staff posted at the Forty One Information Desk in the building lobby will be able to assist with any questions during the show period. Additionally, look for a Forty One representative at Javits, Concourse Level Two.
Also, Forty One Madison has joined with Gift Fair producer George Little Management, 230 Fifth Avenue and 7 West 34th Street to offer attendees a first-in-the-U.S. art exhibition treat. Your show badge will entitle you to free admission to “Andy Warhol: The Last Decade” at The Brooklyn Museum of Art. The attendee badge will be honored the week of the show, Aug.14-20.
