NASHVILLE, Tenn.–Sam Abell, president of licensing agency Courtney Davis, Inc., has assumed ownership of the company. Founder Linda Balogh will retire in early 2012 after close to 40 years in the industry.
Abell has been with Courtney Davis since 2005, assuming the position of president in 2008. Prior to joining Courtney Davis, Abell was vice president at CR Gibson for 14 years.
Courtney Davis is making several other internal changes to nurture growth, the company said. Kate Schreiber has left her position as design director at Lang to become an account executive for key accounts. Carrie Farina will continue to handle her designated accounts while assuming an increased role in fostering artist development as vice president of account management and artist relations. Shannon Goodwin will continue in her role as account executive and marketing communications.
Courtney Davis represents artists such as Susan Winget, Lori Siebert, Tim Coffey, Fabrice de Villeneuve, Lisa Kaus, Kelly Rae Roberts, Terri Conrad, Joy Hall, Phoenix Creative, Betty Whiteaker, Kimberly Poloson, Gregory Gorham, Jennifer Lambein and Warren Kimble.
