Eleven Vietnamese furniture and handicraft producers will be showing in a new permanent showroom at the High Point Market being held Oct. 19-24.
The companies are exhibiting under the umbrella of the Vietnam Trade Promotion Agency (Vietrade) in a 4,428 square-foot showroom in the IHFC’s Green wing, Space 578. Vietrade is a governmental group that supports and promotes industry and trade.
“Vietnam is known for its solid-wood furniture and handicraft factories offering good quality and competitive prices,” said Luong Quoc Binh, manager of Vietrade, about the range of companies showing at this market. Vietnamese producers also are focusing increased attention on using sustainable woods in their products and minimizing environmental impact, he added.
Along with the new showroom, Vietrade is developing a www.vietrade.biz Web portal that will feature detailed information about Vietnamese furniture and handicraft manufacturers and product lines. The new site will launch Dec. 9.
“The new Vietrade showroom adds another strong international dimension to the High Point Market,” said Julie Messner, vice president of leasing for International Market Centers. “Their decision to add a permanent showroom at the world’s leading home furnishings market demonstrates the important role the market plays in helping companies establish a presence in North America—and the world.”
