HIGH POINT, N.C.–Furniture manufacturer Theodore Alexander has appointed Thor Taber in the newly created position of vice president of North American design.
Taber will focus on the design and development of furniture, including all wood, metal and upholstered products for the company’s North American market. He comes to Theodore Alexander from Hickory Chair, where he served as senior furniture designer since 2008. He is a graduate of the School of the Art Institute of Chicago and Kendall College of Art and Design.
Taber will be based in High Point, N.C., at Theodore Alexander’s U.S. headquarters, where he will work closely with the sales and marketing teams to design and develop product tailored for Theodore Alexander’s North American market. He will report to Anthony Cox, executive vice president and creative director.
“Thor is a young, versatile designer who has already proven his immense design skills and understanding of evolving market trends,” Cox said. “He exhibits drive, vision and taste and we are pleased he has joined our outstanding design team.”
