DALLAS–Dallas Market Center has launched special opportunities for the fall buying season during its First Monday & Tuesday Mini-Markets. Held on the first Monday and Tuesday of non-market months, these events give buyers the chance to place fill-in orders or make last-minute inventory additions.
More than 70 percent of the gift and home decor showrooms participate in the First Monday & Tuesday program, and new for this fall will be show specials from many of them. In addition, buyers that place an order with a permanent exhibitor will be entered into a drawing for a $100 American Express card. Each purchase will qualify as a separate entry. Dallas Market Center’s in-house travel agency, MarketTravel, is also offering an overnight rate of $139 at the Hilton Anatole, across from the DMC. The rate includes free parking and breakfast.
The First Monday & Tuesday Mini-Markets for the fall are Oct. 5-6, Nov. 2-3 and Dec. 7-8. During the November Mini-Market, DMC will host a Dine + Design, a networking and educational luncheon for design professionals. Fran Mooney, who tracks directional color and design influences in the global market as Benjamin Moore’s color and design specialist, will present Design Forecast 2011 to the group, and the event will take place Nov. 3 from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the DMC’s World Trade Center, room #9065.
The Texas Association of Interior Design will also hold its final program in November, giving state registered interior designers and architects one last chance to fulfill their continuing educational requirements. Courses will take place on Friday, Nov. 20, in the World Trade Center, room #9065.
