DALLAS–The lighting industry begins 2011 with its pilgrimage to the Dallas International Lighting Market, which opens today.
Many companies are debuting new, relocated or expanded showrooms, and will host ribbon cutting ceremonies to celebrate. For today, these include 26th & Soho (World Trade Center #521-B) at 2 p.m. and Stylecraft (WTC, #10074) at 2:15 p.m.
On Friday, Jan. 21, ribbon-cuttings will take place at Yosemite (WTC, #510 at 11:15 a.m., and then at 11:30 a.m., at its other showroom, TM #4026); Worldwide Lighting (TM, #3420) at noon; Authenticity (TM, #4901) at 2:45 p.m., and Fanimation (TM, #4943) at 6:15 p.m. Bulbrite will also celebrate its 40th anniversary on Friday with an event scheduled for 6:30 p.m. in its Trade Mart showroom, #3351.
For snacks and drinks on Friday, Jan. 21, buyers can take advantage of the Lighting Bagel Bar on the Trade Mart 4th floor at 10 a.m. and the Lighting Ginger Snap Martini Madness on the TM 3rd Floor at 4 p.m., both in the Lighting Expansion. And on Saturday, Jan. 22, at 10 a.m., the Lighting Pomegranate Mimosa Bar will take place on the 4th floor of the Lighting Expansion.
American Lighting Association events include What to Look for in a Well-designed LED Luminaire, WTC #345, from 1:30 to 4:30 p.m., Thursday, Jan. 20, and Lighting Regulations: How Upcoming Changes will Affect Your Business, WTC #345, from 8 to 9:30 a.m. on Friday, Jan. 21.
Also on Friday is the ARTS Awards Cocktail Party at the Grand Pavilion at the Trade Mart, 1st Floor, at 6 p.m. The 22nd Annual ARTS Awards Gala itself will then take place on Saturday, Jan. 22, also in the Grand Pavilion, starting with cocktails at 6:30 p.m. and then followed by dinner and the awards ceremony.
