CARTHAGE, Mo.-Leggett & Platt has teamed with comedy writers from Second City Communications to create a series of web videos focusing on the benefits of the 300ez recliner mechanism.
The videos are available on lpcycleman.com and center on Cycle Man, described in a Leggett & Platt statement as “an eccentric components tester living in a lair beneath Leggett & Platt’s headquarters. He’s dedicated to ensuring the 300ez recliner mechanism is strong yet easy to use, and employs wild techniques to get the job done.”
Pat Cross, vice president of sales and marketing for Leggett & Platt Home Furniture Components Group, said the campaign is “a fun way to remind our customers and retailers that 300ez is different. It’s the first recliner mechanism weigh-tested at 300 pounds for 25,000 cycles, and all the testing was done by real people, ensuring strength and ease of use.”
