HIGH POINT, N.C.-The Carolinas chapter of the International Furnishings and Design Association will sponsor a financial planning seminar geared to sole proprietors and small business owners in the home furnishings industry.
Titled “Taking Control of Your Financial Future—a Sensible Approach to Financial Strategies for Business Owners,” the session will take place on Aug. 10 in the Plato Wilson Building at High Point University. The presentation will be from Pat Miller, a former furniture retailer, and Carol Halweil of MetLife Securities. According to an IFDA statement, the seminar will provide answers to questions such as, “What do you want for the future?”, “What first steps can you take?” and “What strategies can you use?”
The seminar will start with a wine-and-networking session at 5 p.m., followed by a summer buffet. The cost for attending is $25 for IFDA members and $35 for non-IFDA members, and reservations can be obtained by sending a check before Aug. 5 to Carolinas Chapter, IFDA, Box 6383, High Point, N.C. 27262.
