LAS VEGAS–The inaugural Gift + Home Show increased attendance by retail buyers of gift products over previous Las Vegas Markets, according to a statement from World Market Center Las Vegas.
The show, which ran in tandem with Las Vegas Market in August, posted a 35 percent jump in gift buyers over the winter Las Vegas Market, and a 56 percent increase in gift buyers over the summer Las Vegas Market of last year. Gift buyers had been attending previous Las Vegas Markets, but the Gift + Home Show was the World Market Center Las Vegas’ first attempt to provide a focused format for this category. As expected, the lion’s share of gift buyers came from the western region, which accounted for 63 percent of the buyer attendance.
The Gift + Home Show “brings us another step closer to realizing our goal of becoming a total-home market where a diverse mix of categories are represented,” said Robert Maricich, president and chief executive officer of World Market Center Las Vegas.
