Fifth Annual “What’s New, What’s Next” Design Event Today

What's New, What's NextNEW YORK–Now in its fifth year, the “What’s New, What’s Next” design event today at New York Design Center offers product introductions, lectures, book signings and meet-and-greets, as well as more than 65 participating showrooms.

Taking place from 2-9 p.m., What’s New, What’s Next list of events includes a book signing at Lexington Home Brands showroom at 3:15 p.m., when Carey Maloney will be signing copies of “STUFF, The M(Group) Guide to Collecting, Decorating with, Learning about, Wonderful and Unusual Things;” the presentation “An Intimate Conversation with [designer] Alexa Hampton,” at Hickory Chair – Pearson at 3:30 p.m.; and “This is Happening,” a discussion about the eclectic components that make up today’s design, given in The Phillips Collection showroom at 7:30 p.m.

Thom Filicia will be at Sedgwick & Brattle’s showroom from 5-7 p.m. for a champagne toast and open house, while Arteriors’ founder Mark Moussa will celebrate the company’s 25th anniversary in its showroom, including a champagne toast at 6 p.m. Global Views’ Josh Jarboe, national sales director, will be at Global Views’s showroom for the event, and which will include drinks and food. From 7:30-9 p.m., a Design Drinkup, presented by McGuire, will benefit Alpha Workshops.
