DANBURY, Conn.–On Sunday, June 1, Ethan Allen will unveil its Modern Masters Collection, an offering of collectible lithographs created by some of the most legendary artists of the 20th century, including Pablo Picasso, Henri Matisse, Georges Braque, Alexander Calder, Salvador Dalí, Marc Chagall, Fernand Léger and Joan Miró, among many others.
The collection was originally produced by renowned lithographer Atelier Mourlot.
Some pieces are signed by the artist, and each comes with a certificate of provenance that is dated and numbered, then handsigned and stamped. All are framed by hand in Ethan Allen’s American workshop, using acid-free materials and conservation-quality, UV-filtering glass.
Ethan Allen said that some of these works have come up for auction at Christie’s or Sotheby’s or been available at museum galleries, such as the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York and the Tate in London.
“We are so pleased to be making this collection available to our clients,” said Farooq Kathwari, CEO of Ethan Allen. “The artistry and beauty is breathtaking, and they’re the reason we were inspired to introduce our first-ever modern art collection. It is thrilling to bring this diverse group of rare and collectible artwork together and to make it available online to our clients.”
Prices for the Modern Masters Collection start at $589. The stock of works ranges from a dozen or so for some of the artworks to more than a hundred for other pieces.
The Modern Masters Collection will debut at 7 p.m. on June 1 during a virtual gallery opening on ethanallen.com. Shoppers can also purchase the art at any Ethan Allen Design Center, where the collection will be available to view on touchscreens.
