CHICAGO–Merchandise Mart Properties Inc. has expanded its Casual Market team with the appointment of Debra Egli as buyer relations manager.
In this new position, Egli will focus on attracting key retailers, catalogs and e-tailers from across the country to The International Casual Furniture & Accessories Market, which takes place in September. She will also focus on bringing first-time buyers to the market and attracting those that have significant impact on the industry as a whole, MMPI said. She reports to Susan McCullough, executive vice president.
Egli has been with MMPI since 2010 in buyer relations for the gift market. Prior to joining the Mart, she was tradeshow coordinator for CBK.
“Debra’s impressive background, proven track record and long-term relationships in the retail and specialty-store industry will help make the upcoming Casual Market the most successful in its 35 year history,” McCullough said. “MMPI is committed to growing the Casual Market held annually at the Merchandise Mart in Chicago, and making sure the buyer and attendee experience is the best in the country.”
In addition, MMPI has launched a buyer incentive program that is new this year to The Casual Market. The program is designed to attract first-time buyers to attend the show with a “robust incentive package,” according to MMPI.
