LONDON–Designer Tom Dixon is behind the pop-up restaurant and tea room Parlement, which will be open during most of Milan Design Week, which runs from April 11 to 17, 2011. Located in Multiplex, a viewing theatre, broadcasting center, shop and gallery that was created for the show in partnership with BlackBerry, Parlement will offer reinvented British cuisine from the hands of chef Stevie Parle of Dock Kitchen London.
Dixon designed the kitchen, which will be a custom-made Beam kitchen with bronze blocks, raw steel beams and primitive aggregate stone slabs installed by Danish brand Ekoij. Open from April 11 to 16, Parlement will serve British tea and scones all day long, as well as offer a small lunch menu and — on Friday and Saturday — a four-course sharing dinner. Costing approximately $100 a person, the dinner will center on wild and seasonal food chosen daily from the Milanese markets. (Dinner reservations can be made by contacting Kate +44 20 8962 1610, firstname.lastname@example.org; no reservations will be taken for lunch or tea.)
