Adesso Inc., the contemporary home furnishings brand, is returning to High Point Market this month after a two-and-a-half-year hiatus. Located in the International Home Furnishings Center, space G262, the new showroom is more than 3,000 square feet.
“We’ve been developing our new and recent products to focus on our independent furniture and lighting retailers who may not attend some of the other trade shows, and we’re so excited to get back to High Point to share them,” said Lee Schaak, chairman, Adesso.
Adesso’s latest products reflect a new style direction with the recent launch of its Adesso Traditions collection of table and floor lamps and torchieres. Adesso Traditions, which offers more transitional designs, demonstrates the company’s emphasis on shade quality. “We feel there is a large need in the market for lamps with top-quality lamp shades that are still affordable,” said Paul Berk, vice president, sales. “The lamp shade is the most noticeable part of the lamp, it should be beautiful.”
Adesso’s shades come under the direction of Jim Prexta, known as “The Lamp Shade King,” Berk said. Having been in the shade business for decades, Prexta joined Adesso two years ago, and has re-taught Adesso’s factories to make high-quality shades to his standards, Berk said. “We are well on the way to building our shade business with the cornerstone of our business being our industry bar raising shade quality,” Berk said, for not only Adesso Traditions but for the entire Adesso line.—Andrea Lillo
