NEW YORK–The home and design industry is demonstrating its support for eradicating breast cancer with a fund-raising reception tomorrow (Thursday, Oct. 16) at 6:30 p.m., hosted at ABC Carpet & Home for the benefit of Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
Eric Brinker, the 32-year-old son of Komen founder Nancy G. Brinker, will address guests and share a personal memoir of the past 26 years growing up alongside the grass-roots phenomenon that is Komen for the Cure. Tickets are $100 and available online atveederperman.com, with proceeds being contributed to Susan G. Komen for the Cure.
According to Elizabeth Miller, senior vice president of style and design for Karastan rugs, who is a breast cancer survivor and the catalyst for the Oct. 16 program, “Eric Brinker promises to bring a very intimate and inspiring viewpoint to all that Susan G. Komen for the Cure does in this world, and he is not to be missed. This is the third year we’ve rallied the home and design community during National Breast Cancer Awareness Month, and I’m proud to say my colleagues and friends in the industry have shown their generosity. I’m hoping that once again they will add their voice and support to this urgent cause and join us at ABC Carpet & Home on Oct. 16.”
While $100 is the suggested donation for attending the event, those wishing to make a contribution, regardless the amount, also can do so at veederperman.com. For more information, phone (212) 966-3759, Ext. 206.
