HIGH POINT, N.C.–With High Point Market coming up next month, scheduled for April 21-26, a plethora of educational opportunities are already scheduled for attendees.
At the International Home Furnishings Center, the seminars, which all take place on the 11th floor in the Green Wing, include: “The Heart of the Home: Helping Women Furnish Their Homes for Fully Connected Family Living,” on Saturday, April 21, from noon to 1 p.m., Ballroom B; the WithIt educational breakfast, “Lifestyle Changes and How They Influence Your Business,” from 7:30 to 9 a.m., in Ballroom A, and “Growing a Business Environmentally,” from noon to 1 p.m., Ballroom B, both on Sunday, April 22; “Why the Bad Economy has been the Best Thing for My Business,” from noon to 1 p.m. in Ballroom B on Monday, April 23; and “Hide & Seek Leather Seminar,” from 9 to 10 a.m. in Ballroom B — which costs $10 and earns 0.1 CEU — and “Passion to Profit,” from noon to 1 p.m. in Ballroom B, which includes a complimentary box lunch, are both on Tuesday, April 24.
Accessories Resource Team will co-host four short seminars in ART member showrooms in the IHFC during the upcoming market. They include “Turning Inspiration into Attractions by Laura Kirar,” on Sunday, April 22, in the Arteriors Home showroom, H320, at 2 p.m., and “Connecting the Dots for Spring/Summer 2012 With Connie Post” in the IMAX showroom, W446 at 2:30 p.m. On Monday, April 23, “The Geography of Wall Décor” will take place in the Paragon showroom, C203, at 11 a.m.; and “Branding and the Importance of Differentiation in a World of Sameness,” will take place in the Phillips Collection showroom, C202 at 3 p.m. The mini-seminar series is organized so that retail buyers can spend 15 to 20 minutes hearing an industry relevant topic and then resume their shopping day.
In the Antique & Design Center’s lecture room at Market Square’s Mezzanine level, the lecture series includes: “Pinterest & Olioboard: From Inspiration to Income,” at 10 a.m., and “Connecting the Dots Design Trend Forecast 2012 in Context,” at 2 p.m., both on Saturday, April 21; “Cutting Edge Garden Design from Sustainable to Avant Gard, at 10 a.m., and “Antique Furniture — What to Know Before You Buy,” at 3:30 p.m., both on Sunday, April 22.
