DUBAI, United Arab Emirates–Domotex Middle East witnessed a growth in exhibitors in this, its third year, topping the 280 mark, with participants coming from 36 nations for the recent spring show. In total, nearly 6,500 trade visitors from 91 nations made the trip to the show this year.
Stephan Ph. Kühne, managing board member at Deutsche Messe, said the show’s growth performance reinforced the board’s belief in its future.
Of the total exhibitors this year, 243 came from abroad, including participants from Afghanistan, Belgium, China, Croatia, the United States and Germany, which were represented in group pavilions. Exhibitors from the United Arab Emirates, Turkey and Saudi Arabia accounted for half of the more than 39,000 square feet of display space the full show encompassed. Flooring products shown were varied, with hand-woven and machine-woven carpets topping the list. The show also included vendors showing parquet and other wood floors, textile and resilient floor coverings, laminate flooring, ceramic tiles, and natural stone and marble floors.
Domotex organizers said supporting events served as “visitor magnets” as well. Among such events was Creative Flooring, where professional floor installers gave live demonstrations on combining different materials to create new designs for floor covering installations. Another added feature was Designers Corner, which featured a series of seminars and presentations for designers and architects on the topic of innovative floor coverings.
