CALHOUN, Ga.–Satya Tiwari, president of Surya, was recently named to the 2012 Atlanta Business Chronicle’s “40 Under 40” list.
The publication’s “40 Under 40” honors the accomplishments of Atlanta’s most successful young professionals. Honorees must demonstrate leadership, professional achievement and community service. This year more than 500 nominations were received for the award and winners were selected by a committee of former 40 Under 40 alumni.
Since joining his father’s company, Surya in 2004, “Tiwari has grown the business twenty-fourfold and made the brand a recognized leader in the rug and home accessories industry,” Surya said in a statement. The company has achieved double-digit growth in seven of the last eight years, Surya added, and is also deeply dedicated to community stewardship. Today the brand is partnering with nonprofits East Meets West and the Akshaya Patra Foundation—which provide food and other life-changing resources for impoverished youth at schools across Vietnam and India.
“I am thrilled to be a recipient of this year’s 40 Under 40 awards—and finding myself in the company of so many other successful young professionals here in the Atlanta area,” Tiwari said.
Tiwari and all other 40 Under 40 recipients were recognized at an awards dinner held last month at the Atlanta History Center.
