PORT WASHINGTON, N.Y.–At the Atlanta International Area Rug Market, which starts tomorrow, Safavieh will introduce more than 300 designs that reflect a range of lifestyle trends, new weaves and yarn innovations. The company shows in AmericasMart’s Building 1, 5-A-2.
In addition, Safavieh will offer complimentary breakfast and lunches daily, along with happy hour hors d’oeuvres and wine each evening.
The new collections include Monaco, a power-loomed polypropylene group of 15 designs that recreates the lost weave or erased weave look; Serenity, power loomed in Turkey of polypropylene and featuring vintage effects and updated traditional designs; and Belize Shag, a line of 12 patterned shag rugs with geometric and tribal motifs and also power loomed in Turkey. In addition, expanding rug collections include Porcello, which has an additional 15 designs in coordinating palettes, from mid-century abstract graphics and pop art florals to refined Renaissance damasks; Newport, which also expands with 15 new designs and is dense and finely woven of pure cotton in China; Nantucket, which is inspired by the work of fiber artists of New England and now has another 10 designs; and Montauk, a flatweave group that will have another 20 designs added, many which feature wide borders in fashion colors and ikat tie-dye effects.
New pillow collections include Eloise and Carrie, two brilliantly colored pillow groupings made from recycled sari silk that have a nubby texture that complement the company’s new jewel-toned Monaco collection erased weave rugs. The Eloise pillow line is a blend of 80 percent recycled silk and 20 percent cotton in six colorways. The Carrie pillow collection is reminiscent of the icon tweed Chanel jacket with its loosely woven nubby hopsack texture; it is crafted of 100 recycled sari silk in eight colorways.
