LOS ANGELES–The Rug Market America has expanded its Culver City, Calif.-based design department, both by enlarging the space by 2,000 square feet as well as adding four designers. The company said the move was based on increased demand for exclusive designs and private-label accounts.
“With the tremendous growth in demand from rug and home furnishings companies for our exclusive commissioned designs as well as for licensed designs, we saw the addition of space and personnel as a much needed response,” said Mike Shabtai, founder and creative director, The Rug Market America. “By opening an additional 2,000 square feet of state of the art creative offices and welcoming four new designers, our design capabilities can now not only continue to supply what is needed; but also position The Rug Market for future growth.”
Its private label program is the company’s specialty, and proven relationships with reliable factories have been developed and are delivering in a timely and cost efficient manner, the company said. “We encourage the addition of products from our private label as each provides a great opportunity for retailers to stand apart and sell with confidence that the products will not be subject to online competition for the same product,” Shabtai said.
