CHICAGO-Pantone has debuted Pantone View home + interiors 2014, a trend forecast with nine key color and design trends, encompassing 74 colors, for home furnishings and interior design.
Unveiled at the International Home + Housewares Show here, the forecast is available in book form detailing visual inspiration, suggested color harmonies, individual tear-out palette cards, swatches and images for use in presentations and storyboards. The nine trends are:
•Techno Color, an expression of how technology is affecting design and expanding the color universe through a melding of vibrant and deep hues
•Physicality, which speaks to colors of power and energy counterbalanced by hues that express introspection and calmness
•Sculpted Simplicity, which recognizes how important shape, form and function are to the end product or environment
•Fluidity, which focuses on the human need for cool water tones, rendered in blues and blue-greens
•Collage, a melange of designs that demonstrate ingenuity and resourcefulness
•Intimacy, consisting of tints and tones that inviting in nature and softly tactile
•Moda, which speaks of attention to detail and translates high fashion into interiors
•Tribal Threads, with varied colors to reflect tribal diversity
•Eccentricities, which is tongue in cheek with highly original color juxtapositions in evocative combinations
