SOMERSET, N.J.–Kas Rugs will launch its extension into the home décor category this January with a collection of pillows and poufs debuting first at the Atlanta International Area Rug Market. In addition, the company will be relocating to space 4-C-5 in AmericasMart’s Building 1.
Some of the new pillows and poufs will both coordinate with new and existing rug collections, while others will center around themes of color or looks, such as seashore, geometric, or tropical. Made in India, the new items will include natural materials as well as embellishments and embroidery.
“The market is changing and the furniture business is becoming a large piece of the overall home furnishings business,” said Rao Yarlagadda, president. “We want to provide a full array of trend accessories for our customers in these channels that will help enhance their business. We are working hard to ensure that these expanded businesses are operated with the same level of excellent service that our customers have come to expect from us.”
The new showroom space in Atlanta will be better able to showcase the new categories, as well as the rug collections. “2014 is projected to be a year of tremendous growth for us,” said Wendy Reiss, vice president of key accounts. “We needed a space to adequately show what we are trying to do in these new product categories and also be able to show more of our expanding rug line. The showroom will feature vignettes of new product, conference and office areas, and a relaxation/bar area with flatscreen TV to enjoy at the end of a busy market day.”
Besides the launch of the new home accents categories, Kas is planning on showing more than 200 new rug designs at the upcoming winter markets.
