HIGH POINT, N.C.–Area rug source Art Resources is making its first appearance at the October High Point Market in a new 4,691-square-foot showroom in Space 294 of Market Square.
The company—known for its high-end Oriental rugs—has created a new rug division priced in the mid-range of the market that will target furniture stores and mass merchandisers. A typical 8-by-10-foot model will be priced from $500 to $1,600 retail. A range of designs will be offered, including traditional, but the line will focus on transitional and modern styles.
“We’re offering an eclectic mix of quality, hand-knotted rugs imported from India,” said Eddie Simantob, a partner in the business with his brother Jack. “They are designed to appeal to a broad range of tastes, with very affordable price points.”
Based in Los Angeles, where it also has a warehouse that serves the West, Art Resources also has an East Coast office and warehouse in Secaucus, N.J. The 30-year-old company currently sells its line mostly through rug specialty stores.
The High Point Market will be held Oct. 13-18.
